What We Do

In 2008, more than 114,400 Christian leaders were trained in programs that varied from very intensive, ongoing theological training courses to shorter seminars designed to build up and encourage Persecuted Christians.

Persecuted Christians are routinely fired from their jobs when they confess a new faith in Jesus Christ or they are discriminated against by not even being allowed to apply for a job. Open Doors is committed to bringing tangible help to those who are denied our freedoms.

Our persecuted brethren cry out for our prayers - not for comfort and escape - but to testify to the grace and faithfulness of God. Open Doors equips believers to stand with the persecuted in prayer, and takes teams around the world to encourage and pray directly with brothers and sisters under pressure.

From the bold beginnings with Brother Andrew smuggling bibles into Eastern Europe for the first time in 1955 in his blue volkswagen beetle to the incredible work that Open Doors is doing today, please enjoy the rich history of Open Doors and the timeless commitment we have for the persecuted church.

Brother Andrew is the founder of Open Doors. God led Andrew into a lifetime of adventures when he decided to follow Christ. His experiences and his faithful heart resulted in his founding Open Doors.
