Special Envoy for Religious Freedom Bill

Special Envoy

Open Doors is campaigning to support H.R. 440, a bill that calls for the establishment of the Special Envoy to Promote Religious Freedom of Religious Minorities in the Near East and in South Central Asia. There has recently been an increase in number of attacks on religious minorities in this region, including the siege on Our Lady of Salvation Church in Baghdad on Oct. 31st, 2010 (resulting in the deaths of at least 58 people), and the bomb attack on a church in Alexandria, Egypt on Jan. 1st, 2011 (resulting in the deaths of 21). If you haven’t taken action yet, please take a moment to send your U.S. Representative a message asking him/her to co-sponsor this important bill. This is a perfect opportunity to send a personal message to your U.S. Representative telling him/her that religious freedom matters to you!
