Jane Huckaby - Vice President - Products and Program Services, Open Doors USA Since 1989 Jane Huckaby has been serving in Christian nonprofits. After her career with IBM in Atlanta, she moved to Southern California as the Vice President of Operations at the Christian Research Institute (CRI) from 1989-1995. She oversaw the radio outreach of The Bible Answer Man and managed CRI’s administrative and listener support operations. She trained several groups in evangelism and learned about the importance of rightly disseminating the Word of God.
After reading Brother Andrew’s first publication, God’s Smuggler, Jane was inspired by the challenge to “awaken and strengthen what remains and is at the point of death” (Rev. 3:2); to serve through Open Doors. Today she is Vice President of Products and Program Services at Open Doors USA overseeing involvement opportunities for strategic donors. She oversees the youth, church, women’s, prayer, missions, advocacy and volunteer programs at Open Doors USA. When Jane traveled to Peru and Colombia she met with pastors, widows, orphans, ex-prisoners, prisoners’ families, and leaders in the community, all expressing their hunger for the world to not forget them. She spent 12 days in the Islamic Republic of Iran and experienced first first-hand the oppression and hardships Christians live with every day. Visiting in Pakistan Jane discovered that though the church there is very small and treated unjustly, their hope and faith in Christ is sure and strong. Vision trips to Egypt and China revealed a new dimension of persecution--women who are belittled and devalued, even in their Christian homes. Jane has shared these stories of the persecuted Church with audiences in Canada, and throughout the USA, at churches, leadership seminars, conferences, and other occasions. She serves on two apologetics boards and is a member of the Presbyterian Church of America. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Jane returns home at least once a year to celebrate reunions and holidays with her family who live in the elegant South. Her heritage is rich with pastors, chaplains, and missionaries. As a single woman, she cherishes the flexibility to go wherever, whenever God calls.
