Although the constitution provides for freedom of religion, in practice evangelism, importing religious literature and offering private religious instruction are among activities forbidden or restricted by law. Churches have been forced underground. Christians have been threatened, detained and then fined, or cut off from electricity and water supplies to force them out of the village or to make them renounce their faith.
Pray - That the fierce media campaigns against Christians will end; a TV programme called In the claws of ignorance was broadcast several times last year
- For Christians forced out of their homes by threats
- That Christians being worn down by endless pressure will be strengthened and given patience.
