The constitution provides for freedom of religion, but the Penal Code prohibits conversion from Islam. Coming to faith on these three Indian Ocean islands poses many difficulties. Some family and community members have harassed new Christians and chased them out of their schools and villages for 'evangelising Muslims'. The underground Church is relatively small, but Bible study groups continue to meet regularly in homes.

Pray

That the occult movements establishing themselves on the islands will not win over any Christians or cause disunity
That Christians will stand firm despite the growing number of Arab fundamentalists coming to the islands to teach their doctrine
That the spirit of prayer already evident amongst the Christians will grow and develop.
