When Iranian convert, Sarah, was shot in the neck by robbers some years ago, medics did not expect her to survive. But today, by God’s grace, Sarah is still living for Christ in Iran—ranked #2 on the new Open Doors World Watch List.
Wonderfully, at a recent Open Doors training conference, Sarah had the opportunity to be baptized. Her testimony of God’s “double miracle” in her life brought encouragement to the believers gathered at the conference. “God gave me life again in two ways,” says Sarah, “physically and spiritually!”
Sarah’s first miracle came after the shooting incident which left her with a serious neck wound. “I spent hours in the operating theatre,” Sarah recalls, “but I still had a hole in my neck—the doctors were unable to cure me.”
“So I prayed to God,” Sarah continues. “One morning soon after, the doctor took away my bandages—and was very surprised! There was nothing to be seen on my neck! The doctor asked what I had done and I could only tell him that I had prayed to the living God.”
As well as physical restoration, Sarah also tells of a second miracle—God’s spiritual healing in her life, shown so powerfully in her recent baptism at the Open Doors conference. “I have been waiting to be baptized for three years,” Sarah shares. “Being baptized here is wonderful and remarkable!”
Please pray for Sarah, and all those like her, who live for Christ in Iran, despite the risks—surveillance, arrest, imprisonment and torture are the experience of many Iranian believers.
