Ethiopia - Martha Geleta
Yadeta Dinsa, a faithful leader in the Full Gospel Church, in the Qelem Welega area, was brutally murdered while trying to stop an ambush on church members returning from a church service on March 15, 2010. Yadeta bravely stepped between the attacker and his evangelist friend, hoping to stop the attack, but instead he was struck down. Fatally wounded, his wife, Martha and several villagers arrived just in time to hear him utter the words, “Dear Lord Jesus, please receive my soul in peace,” after which, he died.
Yadeta’s widow, Martha, is left with six children and no means to raise them on her own. The church leaders have taken it upon themselves to help provide food, and when possible, finances for other needs. In addition, Open Doors is partnering with the local church to assist Martha and the children. We invite you to write cards and letters of encouragement and consolation, to Martha and her children. Greeting cards and postcards are desired, inside envelopes.
