Ethiopia Muzein
Converted Witchdoctor Wishes Persecutors Well
Muzein, from the start was destined to follow his father who was the witchdoctor of his village. He became respected as a man of authority and power. However, Muzein eventually discovered that his powers didn’t have much influence on Christians. He noticed that Christians exhibited a real sense of peace and boldness. Meeting secretly with them, he felt convicted of his sins, confessed and trusted in Jesus Christ.
Upon learning of this, Muzein’s father in a fit of rage wounded him with a spear. His mother stood up for him, but his father demanded that he must die. He was awakened in the night, he believes by an angel, and told to depart immediately.
Discovered by his family, in the next village, they tied him up and were returning him when they were pulled over by a police officer. By the grace of God, the officer was a Christian. The police ordered them to release Muzein. A local church leader took him in, but arranged for him to be sent to a safe location where he could heal physically and be nurtured spiritually without danger.
Muzein wishes no revenge, but prays that his father could hear and accept the Gospel, and that the whole village might be transformed. Open Doors (OD) co-workers visited Muzein to encourage him and pray with him. The local church leaders are faithfully looking after his spiritual and physical needs. He needs letters of encouragement strength and healing.
