Colombia - Gloria, Ingrid & Pipe

Gloria & Pipe

Faithful pastor and evangelist, Manuel Camacho of the Worldwide Missionary Movement was killed suddenly in front of his home on September 21, 2009 with his family nearby. It is believed that he was killed because of his effective preaching and evangelizing in his town and surrounding areas by a member of the local guerrilla group.

Pastor Manuel had received deaths threats for several years and was concerned about the safety of his children. On that fateful day, Pastor Manuel’s wife, Gloria, knew that her husband was going to die but she kept silent. She had experienced a vision in which Manuel was murdered and that she would remain alone with her two children. Manuel had previously stated that, “If one day we die for preaching Christ, it will be a privilege.” Later that day Pastor Manuel received a phone call from a man asking to meet him. He went out his front door, as he approached the man, he was gunned down.

On Christmas Eve, 2009, Gloria returned with her two children, Pipe and Ingrid, to the church where Manuel used to be a pastor. She tearfully shared with the congregation her memories of her husband and what God has been doing in her life for the past three months. Gloria stated that Open Doors has been a great encouragement to her and the children.

You too can be an encouragement to Pastor Manuel’s family by sending a letter or card of peace and consolation to Gloria, Pipe and Ingrid.
