Rescue Meriam   Here is an update on Meriam Ibrahim’s case from Kristin Wright- Advocacy Director at Open Doors USA Last Thursday I stood in front of the White House along with individuals from more than 40 organizations, holding signs reading “Free Meriam” and “Release Meriam Ibrahim.” Together we called upon the administration to speak out on Meriam’s behalf. Within hours of our awareness event in front of the White House, the State Department broke their silence on Meriam’s case, issuing a statement condemning her unjust imprisonment and calling for her immediate release. Although this is only one step in the campaign to free Meriam, our efforts are beginning to make a difference. Thank you for all you have done to speak out for this innocent Christian woman. While she remains in confinement, we have recently learned that Meriam’s shackles have been removed and she has reportedly been transported from her prison cell to a prison clinic with air conditioning and a bed. Meriam isn’t free yet, but it is good to learn that her conditions are improving. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to remember her in our prayers and take action on her behalf. We’re so grateful for your involvement.
