Believer inside Saudi Arabia calls for prayer for Christian on trial

Over the past week, we’ve asked you to pray with Adam*, a husband and father in Saudi Arabia who left Islam to follow Jesus. We’ve prayed for him as he approached his trial on June 3 for sharing the gospel. His passion to see others know Christ angered his wife’s Muslim parents who have levied false claims against him.

His close friend Rashid shares a little about Adam’s devotion: “Adam wants other people to know Jesus,” he says. “Sometimes he leaves Bibles behind in the great mosque. In a restaurant, he shared about Jesus to a group of friends. Sadly, one of them betrayed him.

Adam shared a powerful message with us as he approached his trial:

To my brothers and sisters, I love you with all my heart, and I will remember each and every one of you who sent a message to me. Your messages give me confidence that Jesus is the victor!. I do not know what will happen to me after June 3: Will I see my children and my wife again? Will I be able to view your messages? But I am confident that no matter how difficult it is, I will hold on to Christ who redeemed me on the cross.

My life began after I knew Christ. I found a relationship with a Lord who loves me.

Beloved Jesus, come and fill us with Your goodness and power. Touch our eyes, make us see ourselves as You see us. Let us see You in the people around us. We will not be afraid because Your love for us does not diminish with torment, does not end or change, but always triumphs.”

On June 3, Adam faced an Islamic judge who was sentenced to pay a fine equivalent to $80,000 within 30 days. He has decided to appeal. Those closest to him say that Adam is relieved he has time to make arrangements for his family if his appeal is unsuccessful.

This believer who recorded the video above shares how you can pray with Adam. His request was sent just before the sentence was delivered, but the urgency remains.
