Mehriban is a young mother from a Central-Asian country. Last week, she visited a Sunday service at the local church, where she repented and prayed to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior. Almost immediately after her conversion, Mehriban began to face persecution…from her own husband. At first, he did not fully understand what had happened. But then he realized that his wife had become a Christian (her husband is a Salafi Muslim). At first, he told Mehriban to deny Christ and return to the prophet Muhammed and Islam. But she refused to do so and began telling him about Christ, sharing her personal testimony. Her husband became very upset and he began to beat her. One morning he beat her so severely that she was taken to the hospital. After she left the hospital, he kept commanding her to leave Christ and return to Islam. But Mehriban refused, stating that she wouldn’t leave Christ and that she would be committed to Christ for the rest of her life! Her husband then told her, that she is a ‘kapir’ (betrayer of the truth religion) and that he didn’t need Christian wife anymore. He told her that he would be looking for Muslim wife and that he would be leaving her. He then left and went to the capital to stay with his parents. This persecution is a lot for any Christian to encounter, but especially a brand new believer. Would you join us in praying for our new sister Mehriban? Pray that she would remain strong despite the persecution that she faces. Please also pray for her two boys, who are wondering where there father is and if he will ever return. Finally, pray for her husband, the he would find salvation in Christ Jesus. *Photo changed to protect identity
