Update: Join Us in Prayer for Believers in Uzbekistan

December 5, 2014 by Janelle P in

Please join us in prayer for the urgent prayer requests that were just received from the persecuted church in Uzbekistan:

It was just discovered that at the houses of four families, members of a secret church, were raided by secret police. Christian literature and Praise and Worship CD’s were found throughout the homes.

Immediately, a criminal case was initiated against them, and the court sentenced them to pay an administrative fine for possession and distribution of banned literature.

We ask for you to join us in prayer for the believers. Here are some ways we can be interceding on behalf of these believers:

·      Pray that these believers would react to the persecution in ways that honor God and give all glory to Him, despite their external circumstances

·      Just as Hebrews 13:3 commands, we ask that we be given the ability to remember these believers that are in chains as if it were ourselves. Pray that God would give us a rich understanding of what this means

·      Ask God to cancel these fines, if it is His will, and if it is not, we ask that these Christians would be so aware of the God who has saved them at their side

·      Pray for the secret police. We know that God is a God that uses the weak, imperfect and unworthy to fulfill His purposes. We pray that God would make the gospel beautiful to these persecutors, just as He did with Saul/Paul, in order to bring glory to His Name!
