Prayer for Gaddafi

June 5, 2013 by Open Doors in

This is a historic time for Libya. The rebels have moved into Tripoli and the 42 year reign of Gaddafi might be coming to an end.

It is a time of uncertainty, not knowing what will happen to Gaddafi. He is a man who has hurt many people, a man who has created many injustices. Yet, he was a man who was created in God’s image. I am reminded of when Osama bin Laden was killed. Brother Andrew had an amazing statement:

“While recognizing the human, political, military significance of Osama Bin Laden’s death, especially for those who have suffered from the awful violence that he and his organization have committed all over the world, we also recognizes the biblical call to pray for those who persecute (Romans 12:14).

The question we have to answer is: are we revenge-driven or forgiveness-driven? This is a time for honest reflection. God’s call is for us to pursue righteousness.”

Brother Andrew often prayed for the salvation of Osama bin Laden, and as Gaddafi’s reign is coming to a possible end, it is very important to pray for his salvation.

Will you join me in praying for Gaddafi’s salvation and for the people of Libya?
