Send a Persecuted Christian to a Secret School

June 5, 2013 by Open Doors in

As the sun was setting, Bao began to feel sweat drip from his forehead. His parents had given him the name Bao, which means protection and security. In this moment, Bao prayed that the Lord would fulfill the meaning of his name.

In just a few short hours, Bao would be attending a Bible class in a secret school. He had never been to a Bible class before and was excited to learn more about the Bible. He found out about this class from another Christian he had met. This would be the first and only time that the school would meet in this location. The school had to change locations every single time that they met, for security reasons.

Bao was nervous because he knew getting caught would put his life in jeopardy. He was willing to risk this to learn more about the gospel. He was thankful that the school had taken all the security measures possible.

Though Bao was nervous about attending the class, he could not contain his excitement. He did not know the Christian on the other side of the world who had sponsored him, but he was so thankful that they did. Through their gift, he was able to learn more about God, the Bible and discipleship.

Would you consider giving this gift this Christmas to a Christian like Bao? Thank you for your faithfulness.
