My Bible is unchanging Truth that protects me from lies. It keeps my head level and gives peace to my weary soul. I was so anxious about going home from summer camp, so I climbed to the top of my cabin’s bunk bed and I opened up my Bible. God saw my heart and desperation to be near to him, and I came across Psalm 57. The first verse I read was Psalm 57:7: “My heart is confident in you, oh God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!” We soon had to leave to go to breakfast, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that verse. My heart, which is deceitful and beyond cure, can be confident in God, which will then usher in the Lord’s praise! I may have been uncertain about going back home from camp, but I could be certain that God is with me and His love and goodness will never fail!
Had I not read my Bible, I would have continued to dwell on my own insufficiency.
God restored my strength and confidence in Him!
