The 2013 World Watch List Comes Out Tomorrow

June 5, 2013 by Open Doors in

Each year, Open Doors launches the World Watch List. This list ranks the top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted. For over a decade, North Korea has held the number one spot on this list, while numerous countries in the Middle East have made up the top ten list.

A lot has happened in the past year. Many prayers have been answered (like Rimsha in Pakistan being acquitted of all charges or Pastor Masket being released from prison). There have also been tales of heartache (like Pastor Nardarkhani being re-arrested on Christmas day). These events play a role into the World Watch List each year, as Open Doors ranks the countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian.

Tomorrow, Open Doors will hold a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC to launch the list. You can learn more about this event here. Later that night, there will be a special church event focusing on the World Watch List and the new book The Insanity of God by Nik Ripkin. Brother Andrew (founder of Open Doors) will be a special guest speaker at this event.

So stay tuned for more information tomorrow. Thank you for being One With Them.
