Though These Christians May Never Receive A Nobel Peace Prize…

June 5, 2013 by Open Doors in

This week, the chosen few were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. It is wonderful to see different people awarded for their advancements in literature, women’s rights, science and other areas. There are many deserving people nominated for this award.

Tawakul Karman is the first Arab woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize- she has played active role in the Arab Spring and promoting women’s rights.

With all these deserving award recipients, I think of those who were never recognized on this earth. People like Brother Mac:

Brother Mac of China spent 30 years in prison for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. And he even said that he would do it all over again, for the sake of Christ. Isn’t that amazing? He spent 30 years in jail to share with others the only true peace that they will find on this earth- a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Brother Mac died two years ago, and though he never received a Nobel Peace Prize on this earth, I cling to the promise of Matthew 5:12– that his reward is in heaven. This man not only brought the gospel of peace to others, but was willing to suffer for his Lord.

As I applaud the recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize, I also applaud persecuted Christians like Brother Mac, who have given so much for the only one who can bring us peace.
