“We Are Victims of Boko Haram Violence”

February 4, 2016 by Janelle P in

The Islamic extremist group Boko Haraman extremist group that is located primarily in Northern Nigeria appears in the news daily with their most current plot of destruction, and their attacks are often aimed at Christians throughout Nigeria. These three individuals have been personally affected by their attacks. Here are their stories:

  • This is James. He is a father of one of the Chibok girls, kidnapped by Boko Haram back in April of 2014. They still have yet to be returned, and his heart aches each day. We were able to recently meet with him to pray and stand united with him despite the fear that he’s reminded of daily.
  • This is Lydia. She is a survivor of a Boko Haram bomb attack in Gobe State, Nigeria. The Islamic extremist group tends to plan random attacks, often affecting the innocent, in order to brew a sense of terror and anxiety in the region. Miraculously, amidst such a nightmare, she still has sure hope in the Lord.
  • This is Esther. At the hands of Boko Haram, she has now become a widow. Her husband would not deny Jesus, even to the point of death, and that brings her joy when her mourning is overwhelming.

These believers stand firm in their faith, despite the attempts of Boko Haram to shatter it. They still need our prayers, though, as they battle uncertainties and fear. Will you join with us to pray for them today?
