This International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) is the time for Christians to pray with their brothers and sisters in India. India recently moved into the top 10 on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most dangerous countries in the world for Christians.
Believers in India are often shunned, unjustly arrested, attacked—even killed—because they choose to follow Jesus and not Hinduism or the local religion. Our Indian family needs the prayers of the global church this IDOP to stand strong in the midst of persecution—and to remain a light for Christ in the world’s second-most populated country.
To make it easy for your church to participate in this special prayer event for India, Open Doors is providing a free church resource kit that includes: videos, sermon outline, children’s ministry lesson and much more.
In 2018, late one night, Rohan received an urgent call—the voice on the other end told him the church was on fire. “I immediately reached the spot to see the church fully burnt to ashes,” Rohan shares.
“I took it as a challenge—what will God do now?” he says. As for the Hindu extremists who burned down the church, Rohan says, “God says love your enemies as yourself, so we are consistently praying for them.”
