How can I get help for issues I am encountering while using the Pray for the Persecuted Prayer App?

Thank you so much for regularly praying for believers who live out their faith in some of the world's most difficult places for Christians. We are sorry that you're experiencing difficulties while using our Pray for the Persecuted Prayer App.

Below, we share a list of troubleshooting tips that usually resolve most issues:

The Prayer App isn't functioning. I don't see new requests; or requests that come through are glitching in some way.

Solution 1: Check the App Updates section on your mobile device to make sure you have installed any available updates for the app. Here’s how:

If you have an Apple device:
If your device isn’t set up to automatically update apps…

  1. Go to your iPhone’s home screen and tap on the App Store icon.
  2. After the App Store opens, tap the Updates icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Now tap Update All at the top of the screen.
  4. Enter your password and wait for your apps to update.

If you have an Android device:
If your device isn’t set up to automatically update apps…

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap Menu
  3. Now tap My Apps & Games
  4. Apps with an available update are labeled “Update.”
  5. Tap Update All to update all apps. For individual apps, find the specific app you want to update and tap Update.

Solution 2: Check to make sure your device’s operating system is up-to-date.

If you have an Apple device:
If your device isn’t set up to automatically update software…

  1. Plug your device into a power source and connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  3. From there, tap Download and Install. If you get a message asking to temporarily remove apps because iOS needs more space for the update, tap Continue or Cancel. Later, iOS will reinstall apps that were removed. If you tap Cancel, click here for next steps.
  4. To update now, tap Install. Or you can tap Later and choose Install Tonight or Remind Me Later. If you tap Install Tonight, just plug in your iOS device into a power source that evening. Your device will update automatically overnight.
  5. If asked, enter your passcode for your mobile device.

If you have an Android device:
If your device isn’t set up to automatically update software…

  1. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select About Phone.
  4. Tap Check for Updates. If an update is available, Update will appear. Tap it.
  5. Install. Depending on your device’s operating system, you’ll see one of three messages: Install Now, Reboot and Install, or Install System Software. Tap one. Your mobile device will reboot.

Solution 3: Delete the Pray for the Persecuted Prayer App from your device. Go to the App Store and download the app again. Enter your email and start the process over.

I am not receiving Prayer App notifications.

Make sure your notifications are turned on. Here’s how:

If you have an Apple device:

  1. From your device’s home screen, hit Settings and then > Notifications.
  2. From the Notification Style section, tap an app.
  3. Tap the switch to turn on or off.
    Depending on the app you select, the options may vary:

    • Allow Notifications
    • Show on Lock Screen
    • Show in Notification Center
    • Show in Banners
    • Banner Style
    • Sounds
    • Badges

    For most apps, you can choose if you want the Banner Style to be “Persistent” or “Temporary.”

  4. Tap < Notifications in the upper left of your screen.

If you have an Android device:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Applications to view a list of installed applications on your phone.
  3. Find and tap the Pray for the Persecuted Prayer App.
  4. On your device’s App settings page, tap the Notifications category.
  5. Next, make sure the Block All setting is turned off.

I am not seeing any prayer posts when I am in the app.

We recommend you close the app and then log back into it. If this does not resolve your issue, you may consider deleting the app from your device and downloading it again; updating the app; or updating your operating system—all of which are outlined above.

I am not sure how to use the app.

I am not sure how Facebook sharing works on the app.

While in the app, click on the icon for Facebook
You can either choose to share the post as is or write a short note in your post describing how this specific prayer request has inspired or challenged you!

I am not sure how sharing via Twitter works.

While in the app, click on the icon for Twitter

I do not know how to submit a prayer in the app.

Tap on the “Submit prayer” button on the bottom right of your app screen, if available. Please note that some prayer requests do not have this option. After Tapping on “Submit prayer,” type your prayer into the app and then tap the arrow (enter) button to submit.

The prayer post mentions a video, but I don't know where to find it. (Please note not all prayer app posts have video)

Tap on the “Watch video” button on the bottom right side of your app screen.

However, we do collect and analyze feedback from supporters and work with developers to resolve issues that come up repeatedly for multiple users.
