Show Christ’s love to Saudi believer facing prison

Dear Friends,

Today I have a letter to share with you from Adam*—a husband, father and Christ follower who converted from Islam in Saudi Arabia. He has spent time in prison and received hundreds of lashes in the past for sharing Christ and importing Bibles.

Three years ago, he helped his wife Hope’s* sister escape the country with her two children after her family tried to kill her when they discovered she was a Christian. Now, the same family falsely accused him of theft and used their influence to get him arrested. Adam’s trial was on June 3, and he is now facing a prison sentence—a punishment that would leave his wife and son vulnerable. He has the next 30 days to appeal the verdict.

There are so many more details I could share with you about this man who follows Christ risking everything but instead, I want to share a letter he wrote to believers like you after recently receiving encouraging messages before his June 3 court date:

To my respected brothers and sisters,

I am writing these words to you to express even a small part of my thanks, appreciation and respect to you. Your messages illuminated my mind with faith. You are the ones who fill my journey with Christ with great meaning, thanks to the prayer that you raise to the King of Kings for me, my children and my beloved wife. Your messages, which reach me through a brother here, give me strength and give me confidence that Jesus is the victor!

My dear brothers [close] to my heart, God has sent Christ’s family filled with mercy and love for thousands of people to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia so that God may enlighten their way. Christ’s family here has cared for me, my children and my wife … They have been a spiritual family. You, my dear brothers and sisters, are like a candle that lights the way for others. I ask you to pray for Christ’s family here to complete the task that God has given them and to enlighten their hearts.

My brothers and sisters, we remember Jesus Christ when He sent the disciples to teach people and when He said in Matthew 10: 6-7, “But go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And proclaim as you go saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

Yes, my brothers, I am fully confident that the light of Christ will come on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia very soon, then the light of Christ will prevail in the world. We trust in Christ. We do not surrender or fear the evil of people.

All my brothers, I do not know what will happen to me after June 3: Will I see my children and my wife again? Will I be able to view your messages? My heart will be with Jesus and my mind will be with my children, but I am confident that Jesus will be with them and give them the strength to complete their lives. I am not afraid. No matter how difficult it is, it will not make me withdraw from my love for Christ who redeemed me on the cross. My life began after I knew Christ. I did not know life before. In Christ I found love, peace and truth. I found a relationship with a Lord who loves me. Yes, it is Jesus, the greatest love, the Savior, liberator, and the doctor who would like to make our lives wonderful and great. He is Jesus Christ, who went to the cross to save us from the eternal punishment that we deserve because of our sins.

The Bible says in Isaiah 26:3-4: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.”

My brothers all, I do not want to prolong you, but I found myself writing to you that I love you with all my heart, and I will remember each and every one of you who sent a message to me. May God bless you and protect you all.

Beloved Jesus, come and fill all readers of this message’s with Your love. Fill us with Your forgiveness. Fill us with your goodness and power. Touch our eyes, make us see ourselves as You see us. Let us see You in the people around us, and to see the needs of our brothers who invite us to serve them.

We have complete confidence in You, our Lord and God, we believe that You do not let us [be] far from you for long, because You walk with us, and You have the authority over everything. We will not be afraid; You are our friend and companion. We fear nothing, because Your love for us does not diminish with torment, does not end or change, but always triumphs.

Your brother Adam and his family, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

I can only imagine your heart was as moved by Adam’s words and prayers as mine was. Please continue to pray for him and his family and take a moment to write our brother in Christ a letter of encouragement.

In Christ we are One Church. One Family.
