2nd Anniversary of Iraqi Displacement

August 14, 2016 by Janelle P in Middle East

This weekend marked the 2 years anniversary of the mass displacement of refugees from Mosul and the Nineveh Plains in Iraq. In many places there were emotional memorial events. An event was held in a church located inside of a refugee camp. The memorial event included poems, music, drama and dances to remember the devastating events and encourage those still in refugee camps two years later. The dance they performed is about having a stable faith in the midst of the incredibly difficult situation they are facing. Please remember our brothers and sisters in these difficult times, and pray for them.

Jesus, we thank You for the fruit that You are bringing about in the Middle East, despite ISIS’ plans for destruction. We are seeing many Muslims come to faith in You after seeing the lies and hurt that has come about at the hands of Muslim extremists. We pray that You would continue to guide these believers and allow their faith to grow because of their time as refugees. We pray this in Your Son’s Name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Join others in praying.
