BOKO HARAM ATTEMPTING TO TAKE BACK CHRISTIAN-DOMINATED NIGERIAN TOWN
The Open Doors field staff in Nigeria is asking for prayers for a developing situation in Gulak, Adamawa State.
In August 2014, the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram took control of the town. Those trapped in the town faced horrible brutality.
Boko Haram terrorists were driven out of Gulak in March 2015 as government forces regained control.
Isaac, an Open Doors Nigerian researcher, is reporting that Boko Haram is now confronting the army once more in an attempt to take back Gulak. The fighting has sent people fleeing into nearby hills. But many elderly people are trapped inside the Christian-dominated town, too weak to flee. Heavy gun battles were reported on Monday.
Please join us in praying that the Nigerian armed forces will be able to keep the insurgents out of Gulak and protect its people.
Nigeria is ranked #10 on the Open Doors 2015 World Watch List (www.worldwatchlist.us) of the 50 worst persecutors of Christians.
