Members of an ethnic religious group from North Africa but primarily Egypt, where they are the largest Christian denomination in the country. Solidarity is a non-governmental organization seeking to help minorities, particularly the Copts of Egypt. The organization supports those in Egypt working for democracy, freedom and the protection of the fundamental rights of all Egyptian citizens.
“I’m honored to be invited to speak during the panel discussion, especially talking about the timely issue of freedom of religion in the Middle East,” says Moeller. “Often in countries such as Iran, Syria and Egypt the religious freedom issues don’t get major coverage. I am looking forward to the discussion and questions from attendees after the presentations.”
Moeller visited Cairo in February to meet with Christian leaders and talk about religious freedom issues and the future of the country under a change of government.
