Eric (his real name changed for security reasons), a 19-year-old man from Kyrgyzstan, prayed to receive Christ three months ago. After reading Matthew 28:18-20 and learning about the Great Commission at his Bible study group, he came back home and shared the gospel with his Muslim parents. He also admitted to his parents that he is now a follower of Christ.

When his father learned that his son betrayed the faith of Muslim forefathers, he started screaming and insulting Eric. Last week Eric’s father and uncle brutally beat Eric. He still has bruises on his face.

Recently, a couple of imams from the local mosque came and prayed over Eric and attempted to make him renounce his faith in Jesus. Last Sunday Eric came to his fellowship and shared what is going on in his life and family and asked the fellow Christians to pray for him. Eric also said that he is not going to deny Christ, no matter what the cost.

Pray that God would strengthen this young believer to continue to be courageous and faithful in his walk with the Lord.

Kyrgyzstan is 89 percent Muslim and five percent Christian, according to Operation World.
