Church Robbed in Kyrgyzstan

July 28, 2017 by Open Doors in Prayer updates

The weekend of July 22nd, unknown persons broke into a Christian church in Tokmak town and robbed it. They left messages with threats like “We will kill you,” “Don’t teach our children,” and “Allah.”

Persecution in Kyrgyzstan often comes from family and community pressure. There have been reports in the past of Christians being denied the right to bury their dead, a family fleeing their village and a husband beating his wife and daughter to try to force them to recant.

Pray for security of the church and all believers of Tokmak town and pray for those who robbed the church, for their salvation.

Father God, full of love, mercy, and perfect righteousness, we pray for our fellow Christians in Tokmak that You will protect them with Your strong right arm, that You will give them wisdom and courage as they consider how to respond in godly ways to this evil that has come upon them. We pray that You will use even what was meant to do harm for good, that You will open the eyes of those who brought about the evil to see You and to turn in faith to Christ who is the only one who can reconcile them to Yourself. In the name of Jesus, our only sure hope in this life and in the life to come. Amen.
