Pray for Deaf Pastor’s Family in Central Asia
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”, Ephesians 6:12.
The parents of Sheeba, a young girl God is using to serve the deaf community in her city, are the leading pastors of the growing deaf Christian community. With the help of Open Doors, Sheeba and her parents provide Bibles and literacy training to many new believers.
But this family is now facing overwhelming problems and attacks on their family and ministry. An Open Doors worker shared, “Satan really wants to destroy that family. They need people now who can pray and fight for them, to take up the armor of God, so that they can overcome these troubles and continue their ministry. When I used to visit them, there was so much joy, purity, love and peace. But it’s all gone now!”
Pray that God will work in the midst of these problems for the good of this family, that their unity, peace, and love for each other and the people they serve will be strengthened rather than destroyed. Pray that God would put a hedge of protection from Satan’s attacks around this family and their growing ministry. Pray also for Sheeba and the serious challenges and attacks she is facing.
We pray, Lord God, for Sheeba’s family as they minister to the deaf community in their area. Satan has brought a heavy hand of oppression upon them and we pray that You will come to their aid. Holy Spirit, be their sword of defense. What the enemy has meant to destroy Christ’s work there, use to build their faith, strengthen their spirits, and bring fruit to their labor. Give them a glimpse of Your presence and work among them today. Restore their joy; raise up beauty from ashes. Turn this time of spiritual darkness in their community into a great turning of hearts toward You, that all may see and know that You have done it! In the name of Jesus who is there with us in the valley of deep darkness to lead us to still waters and restore our souls (Psalm 23), Amen.
