Please pray for sister Jannah* in the Middle East who has been facing extreme pressure for several months. Last year, Jannah encountered Christian believers whose example and witness led her to put her faith in Christ. After coming to faith in Jesus, she was fearful of the reaction of her husband, a member of a militant Islamist group, who had already been abusive toward her. Fearing her life would now be in danger, she fled to a nearby country with her young children. She and her children are now in a place of relative safety, although they are still forced to live in hiding to avoid being discovered by her husband who has continued to issue threats. Efforts are ongoing to help Jannah and her children reach a place of greater safety, a complex and long process. The long wait to reach a place of safety is incredibly trying for this young family. Please pray for this sister and her children, that they will know the Lord’s protection and guidance in the face of the threats. ·

Father, we call on You today to show Your very present help to Jannah and her children. Replace their fear with Your peace, a peace that cannot be destroyed by circumstances. Hasten the process of placing them in a permanent place of safety, away from her husband’s threats. In the midst of her own weakness and vulnerability, lift her eyes to your strength. In the darkness, when worry threatens to rob her of sleep, remind her of Your words in Zephaniah 3—The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will … rejoice over you with singing. In the name of Jesus, our present help in time of need. Amen.
