The Islamic State – A Year Later

July 8, 2015 by Open Doors in Middle East

It has officially been a year since the Islamic State began targeting, displacing and attacking Christians in Syria and Iraq.

Since that time, they have spread throughout the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Asia.

Thousands upon thousands have been displaced from their homes. Some were forced to pay a heavy tax. Some Christian women were sexually assaulted. And others were even killed, paying the ultimate price for their faith.

Their needs have been desperate:

“Christians have been living as refugees for over a year and they will not be able to have a home of their own anytime soon,” one Christian leader shares.

Because of the horrors they’ve experienced, they’re in great need emotionally. But above all, they must be reminded that God cares for them and has not forgotten them.

That’s why it’s so important that we continue to stand united with these persecuted Christians together, especially now as the terror of the Islamic State continues to spread.

That’s why your continued support is so important.  Especially for Christians who’ve been displaced to the most isolated areas.

Your faithful gifts remind persecuted believers that they are not alone, that their brothers and sisters in Christ care deeply for them.

Thank you so much for your generosity.  So many persecuted Christians around the world thank God for you.  But please give again today if you’re able … to continue helping as much as you can.

Join others in praying.
