Threats Against Church in Kyrgyzstan Continue

August 3, 2017 by Open Doors in Prayer updates

Last week we prayed for a church in Kyrgyzstan that was robbed during the night. Not only were things stolen, furniture was broken and threatening messages were left on the walls and windows, messages like “We will kill you,” “Don’t teach our children,” and “Allah.” Local Muslim Background Believers (MBBs) visit this church, putting themselves at risk. In spite of these continuing threats, the church has continued their Sunday services and their various ministries, including community outreach. Please continue to uphold them with your prayers.

Father, we join today in our prayers for this church in Kyrgyzstan, standing in awe both of their continued faithfulness and of Your protection in the wake of this attack. We pray for their continued safety and for Your wisdom as they make daily decisions about the ministry opportunities before them. As the community sees their courage and the power of Your Holy Spirit at work in them, we pray for hearts to be opened to the message of the gospel that is proclaimed. In the name of Jesus, who alone makes us to lie down in safety. Amen.
