Christian Volunteer Opportunities

It only takes a few minutes to get started making a difference in the lives of the persecuted.

If you're wondering...

Is there anything that a person in the U.S. can do that actually makes a difference for persecuted Chrisitans living in some of the world's most dangerous places?

The answer is YES.

And the most powerful way to help is to simply raise our voices—something many who follow Jesus in restricted regions are unable to do for themselves.

“For me, meeting some of our brothers and sisters who have been persecuted, has increased my faith and changed my life. To relate those stories to others here and tell them of ways to pray is an honor and privilege.”

The importance of volunteers

For more than six decades, Open Doors has been going into difficult places where very few organizations are able to help, in order to support persecuted Christians in some of their most challenging moments. Now, more than 60 years later, our team today still works tirelessly—continuing to take risks and build complicated underground channels—to ensure Christians in vulnerable places get the help they need.

We regularly get to see God raise up courageous believers who faithfully follow him, even if it means risking their lives, and it inspires us to do the absolute best we can for them. And because this is our motivation, we will never apologize for asking every American Christian we know to help us in this mission.

We are doing something important and we need all the help we can get. We know you have likely come to this website because you already believe in God and you are already seeking to do good in His name in your local circles. It is our prayer that, as you choose the places where you will invest your money and volunteer your time, that you might prayerfully consider whether God might have you choose “persecution” as a cause you will work against over the course of your life.
