Is there anything a person in the U.S. can do that actually makes a difference for persecuted Christians living in some of the world’s most dangerous places?
The answer is yes. And the most powerful way to help is to simply raise our voices—something many who follow Jesus in restricted regions are unable to do for themselves.
- Become a Connector—someone who will serve as a voice for the persecuted in your local church. As a Connector, you’ll be able to choose from a wide variety of ways—things like passing along prayer requests, showing a video clip, or leading a small group–that will help raise your congregation’s awareness about victims of Christian persecution. - Become an Influencer—someone who serves as a voice for the persecuted church on social media. As an Influencer, you’ll be provided with important and inspiring stories of persecuted Christians, as well as memes and free resources, that you can pass onto your social media followers in order to help raise awareness about victims of Christian persecution. For more than six decades, Open Doors has been going into difficult places where very few organizations are able to help, in order to support persecuted Christians in some of their most challenging moments. Now, more than 60 years later, our team today still works tirelessly—continuing to take risks and build complicated underground channels—to ensure Christians in vulnerable places get the help they need.
We regularly get to see God raise up courageous believers who faithfully follow him, even if it means risking their lives, and it inspires us to do the absolute best we can for them. And because this is our motivation, we will never apologize for asking every American Christian we know to help us in this mission.
We are doing something important and we need all the help we can get. We know you have likely come to this website because you already believe in God and you are already seeking to do good in His name in your local circles. It is our prayer that, as you choose the places where you will invest your money and volunteer your time, that you might prayerfully consider whether God might have you choose “persecution” as a cause you will work against over the course of your life.
